Each faculty of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum is to have honorary Equal Opportunity Officers. The Equal Opportunity Officers can participate in all faculty meetings and appointment committees of the faculty, giving them the opportunity to influence the faculty’s development on every level. At the same time, they are the contact persons for all ideas, problems and matters concerning equal opportunities at the faculty. The Equal Opportunity Commissioners form the link to the higher-level institutions (Equal Opportunity Office and Equal Opportunity Commissioner of Bochum.) Each status group has the opportunity to elect a representative.
Currently Sophia Köhne (Student), Christina "Tina" Feistner (MTV), Vera Nowak (MTV) and Dr. Ivonne Möller (Research Associate) represent the faculty interests. We are happy to help in all equality issues - please send us an email.
We would like to inform you about our planned actions or projects of our faculty. Our goal: To build a network from the first year student to the secretary to the professor.
Moodle course
Recently we started a Moodle course "Gleichstellung Physik", where we can exchange ideas and provide up-to-date information on gender equality projects. Here we also find dates for coffee or breakfast and exchange ideas and contacts. As this is supposed to be a safe place for exchange, you will need a password to enrol in the course, so please contact us once by email. Everyone is welcome!
Women’s Networking Week of the RUB
RUB’s well-established networking events for female researchers and employees will take place in a digital format in 2021 between March 8th – International Women’s Day – and March 12th.
Women's General Assembly
The next Women's General Assembly will take place on Tuesday 19.10.2021 at 16:00. You can attend in NB 02/193 in presence or via Zoom. You can find the Zoom link and the agenda here.
Breakfast
We regularly organize a shared breakfast: we provide bread rolls, coffee and tea – everyone brings some topping for the rolls. The dates are published here and sent by e-mail. The next breakfast will take place on the 8th of December 2021 at 9 am. We will let you know via Email wether it will be held in presence or online. We are looking forward to seeing you!
travel grants
In order to facilitate worldwide networking and individual further education, travel is financially supported.
If you have completely new ideas for projects, please let us know your suggestions, so that we can take them into account in the further planning.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our events.
Yours sincerely,
Your decentralized Equal Opportunity Officers
